Shahrukh Khan's six pack abs in Om Shanti Om was the news of the year 2007. Though actors like Hrithik Roshan (Hrithik's Diet Secrets Revealed) and John made girls go gaga over their body, what amazed the young crowd was the fact that a 40+ actor's transformation into a dude. And this is what the actor had to say about his six abs.It's the same this time around. Ra.One�s poster showcasing SRK�s 8-pack abs seems a little too impressive.Ra.One is a sci-fi flick and SRK is playing a superhero in the film.  During the shooting of the film, Khan lost around 10kg of weight. It is rather surprising to see his abs in just a single scene and no where else in the trailers.

FOR WORKOUTS 

 Shahrukh Khan believes it's important to allow muscles time to recover and 

 suggests

 that you only lift weights and train your abdominal muscles four times a week

 resting one day in between strength training. However, you need to sweat 

 cardio will help you lose body fat to reveal your six-pack abs. The Bollywood 

 actor also says that if you slip up on the diet, doing 50 minutes of cardio will

 get your body back on track. Try 30 to 60 minutes of running, jogging, cycling

 or aerobics every day. The actor revealed that he does 100 push ups and 60 pull ups daily to maintain his abs. According to the actor doing push ups and pull ups regularly for month will start showing the results.





FOR DIET
Shahrukh Khan's diet is very strict. He avoids all breads and rice, as well as high-fat foods made with ghee -- clarified butter. Lean meats, chicken, turkey, egg whites, paneer -- a type of farmer's cheese -- fish and skim milk are allowed. All simple carbohydrates, including refined grains and anything with added sugars should be avoided. High-fiber complex carbohydrates such as vegetables, legumes and whole grains are acceptable. Khan recommends eating a piece of fruit if you have a craving for something sweet and drinking between two and three liters of water each day. He also suggests a protein drink after every workout.
  • Drink 4-5 litres of water everyday
  • Follow a low carbohydrate and high protein diet
  • Have a protein drink after your workout 
  • Avoid sweets. If you have a craving for anything sweet, eat fruits as this is usually enough to satisfy and sugar cravings 
  • Increase your intake of protein rich foods such as chicken,egg whites, turkey, lean meats, skimmed milk, pulses 

Use these simple Diet and Workouts of Shahrukh Khan and get the abs like the actor. It will be surprising for you to know that the om shanti om look of SRK was so famous that all the B-town's young stars started to try the look by making a good business for the Mumbai fitness centres.



SHAHRUKH'S FITNESS MANTRA

 Never train your abs more than 3 times a week, that too on alternate days. Your abdominal muscles need to recover after every workout so that they can become stronger. Working out your abs everyday will not help you develop them faster, but will only lead to muscle damage and injury.


 Avoid alcoholic beverages and try to eat grilled, rather than fried, food

.Although Khan's plan is not low-fat, he does shy away from excess calories. 

 Fat has 9 calories per gram, while protein and carbohydrates only have 4 

 calories per gram. Avoid snacking in between meals. Start slowly; Khan says

 you can expect to see results in 30 to 40 days, but that you must be very 

 disciplined. If you are strict and regular with your exercise and diet, you will 

 succeed.

    I play basketball thrice a week to stay fit. I also walk and trek to stay fit and keep my stamina up. I frequent the gym, swim with my son, meditate, jog, and practise yoga and martial arts.
    It�s important to vary your fitness routine so that you don�t get bored. Yoga, meditation and martial arts help in staying physically fit and bringing about the inner balance.
    • DIETING ROUTINES
    Akshay seldom takes his fitness for granted. He does not subscribe to dieting. He maintains that the secret of his physique is the healthy home cooked food. However, he does not eat like a glutton. He stresses on eating a balanced diet. He has abnegated liquor, smoking and partying from his life. Another astonishing fact about his diet is that, he has never even tasted tea or coffee. He scrupulously forbears from nicotine or caffeine.Eat as often as possible. Keep the portions small. Make sure you are getting enough of carbs, proteins etc. Go for steamed, sauteed or grilled food instead of deep fried. Eating every two hours may seem boring but that's the only way to keep your metabolism high, burn fat and stay healthy. You should never go without food. If you starve yourself, your body goes into shock and stores the food you eat instead of burning it.
    You don't have to be so strict on your diet, you just need to be sensible. Eat everything in moderation. If you restrict yourself from eating something you like, it won't be long before you lose control and start to binge. That's the biggest failure of all dieting techniques. Diets are a regime; they are not there to kill you, just to guide you.


    • Try to finish eating your meal at least two hours before bedtime 
    At night, your body is resting so it doesn't need a big meal. Ideally try and have your dinner no later than 7-8 pm. Soups, salads and veggies are perfect for dinner. Definitely no carbs (rice, bread) because your body will not burn them while you're sleeping. It'll only gift you the famous Indian paunch.

    My Thoughts on Sugar!

    Sugar. Delicious, not so nutritious, and hidden in SO many food products!

    This week, I have become much more aware about how much sugar is REALLY in the foods we eat. While 10g of sugar in a bowl of cereal or granola doesn't sound like much, it adds up SO quickly! Hence, my blog for today. Beware of all the sugar you are consuming.

    Obviously, fruits are an essential part of a well-balanced diet, and naturally they contain sugar. For example:
    A banana contains 14g of sugar!
    1 apple can have up to 23g of sugar!

    While these are good sugars, you want to have fruits in moderation, just like everything else in life. That is why it is recommended to have 2-3 servings/day. I have been working on this lately, I LOVE fruit. But, the hardest part of cutting down on sugar is realizing how much of it is in other products that I loved! For example:
    3/4 c. Special K Fruit and Yogurt (my fav): 10g sugar
    2% Chobani Pineapple: 18g sugar
    5 Hershey Kisses: 12g sugar
    Light & Fit Yogurt: 11g of sugar (plus artificial sweeteners)
    Special K Granola Bars: 6g sugar

    Like I said, it may not seem like a lot of sugar, but BEWARE when it adds up over 24 hours!!!

    So how can you substitute these sugary meals and snacks? Morgan to the rescue:
    -Instead of having a bowl or two of cereal in the morning, try "Lower Sugar Maple Brown Sugar Oatmeal" which contains only 4g of sugar. Better yet, throw an egg and an egg white on the stove for a zero-sugar breakfast! Vegetables will make it even more delicious. "Light" english muffins only contain 1g of sugar.
    -Be conscious of the sugar you are adding in your coffee, on your fruit, in your favorite sweet treats, etc.
    -Remember that all food groups are okay in moderation... avoiding all sugar doesn't mean you should overload on carbohydrates or bad fats!

    Avoiding extra sugar doesn't mean you should feast on artificial sweeteners (Splenda, Diet Sodas, etc). These are CHEMICALS that your body CANNOT digest! While they have zero calories and zero grams of sugar, your body is not made to digest them...... therefore, you pee them out. Gross, huh? Even worse (for us ladies), they bloat you! No one enjoys that. Honestly, natural sugar is the better route to go in this case.

    Well, that is all for my sugar lecture! Today I was realizing how hard it is to avoid sugars, so I hope I inspired you to take this into consideration!

    Matthew McAllister: From Wrestler To Bodybuilder

    Have I Mentioned Setting GOALS?!

    The topic comes up again... GOAL SETTING!!! This past weekend, I had the opportunity to accomplish one of my goals, and boy-oh-boy did it feel incredible.

    As many of you know, I started running about two years ago, and have made it my own little sport against myself. Of course, I started with a mile. A long, painful mile that probably took me way longer than it should have. Each day I ran just a little further and a week later I could run 2 miles. For the past few years, I have tried to go a little further each day. Something I've learned is that even when you are exhausted, push yourself a few extra steps. It is the only way you'll ever be able to push past your goals and improve on your running skills. As they say, a workout isn't meant to be easy!! So motivate yourself to go just a little further, even if it is a little bit painful. You will be SO proud of yourself at the end of your run!

    A running buddy was also CRUCIAL in my running successes. When I moved to Boston, my roomate Svenja had just run a marathon.... yep, 26.2 miles. And I..... could only run 1. She was my inspiration to run, to run further, and to keep going when I wanted to stop and walk. Running with a partner is so much easier! I find my mind wandering about my day's events rather than how I want my run to be over :) After running with Svenja, and now my other roomate Hannah, I have been able to run further than ever before, which prompted me to sign up for my first 5k and 10k races starting last September!

    With each race, I try to improve my time by just a little bit. Remember, GOAL SETTING!? My first 10k race (6.2 miles) was somewhere around 1 hour 4 mins, my next 10k was 52 minutes, so this previous weekend, my goal was 50 minutes. It seemed extreme to me, but it gave me something to work for, and was a great reason to push myself just a little further and a little harder on each of my training runs! It wasn't easy, and some of my runs were torture (running up and down hills... yuck!) but I knew it would be worth it when I crossed the finish line of the Holyoke St. Patrick's Day 10k.

    On race day, I was SO. EXCITED. beyond words. I was SO ready to accomplish my goal (hopefully) and ready to run my legs off. After a good breakfast and a delicious banana, we were off! The race was very hilly (the down-hills were great!) but all in all, it felt so awesome to run. And pass a bunch of boys, hehe! And best of all........................................................... I ACCOMPLISHED  MY GOAL!!!!!

    It felt SO wonderful, and that is why I had to blog about goal-setting yet again. If you set your mind to something and work your hardest to achieve it, your result will be SO rewarding! If you aren't a runner, set other fitness goals!! Staying on the elliptical for 5 minutes longer... lifting 5 more lbs... you name it! What are you passionate about? What is your goal? Good Luck :)
